OPERATION INGØYA

ILL. PAULINE KERLEROUX

"There is no stronger weapon than a child's imagination."

A young Norwegian boy named Oskar is pulled into the depths of the sea and recruited by ORGASUB, a secret underwater animal spy network. There, he teams up with Nikita, a spy beluga whale who has defected from the Imperial Republic with a terrifying secret: the wind turbines being built off the coast of Norway are designed to suck away children's imaginations.

A pastiche of a spy novel, Operation Ingøya is loosely inspired by the real-life mystery of Hvaldimir—the famous military-harness-wearing beluga discovered by fishermen in Norway in 2019.
